After retirement from competition, Mike, a certified 6th degree black belt instructor, opened his Taekwon-do school in Oakville. Teaching over 22 hours a week, Mike has gained the reputation of being master in the manner in which he imparts the tenets of Taekwon-do; (courtesy, integrity, self-control, and indomitable spirit) to hundreds of students, some of whom have achieved international success.

Mike Morningstar is assistant to the President of the International Taekwon-do Federation; and conducts teaching seminars around the world. In 2003, Mike was the first official I.T.F. instructor to be sent to South Korea since 1972.
